Four Spanish films competing for the Concha de Oro, the same as in the previous two editions
Cuatro películas españolas compiten por la Concha de Oro, la misma cifra que en las dos anteriores ediciones
Like last year, four Spanish films will compete in the Official Selection at the 58th San Sebastian International Film Festival, which takes place from 17 to 25 September. Spanish productions that compete in this 58th edition for the Golden Shell are the new films of José María de Orbe 'Aita'; Judith Colell and Jordi Cadena, 'Elisa K'; Oscar Aibar 'El gran Vázquez' (The Great Vazquez); and Agustí Villaronga 'Pan Negro' (Black Bread).
Al igual que el año pasado, cuatro películas españolas competirán en la Sección Oficial de la 58 edición Festival Internacional Cine de San Sebastián, que se celebra del 17 al 25 de septiembre. Las producciones españolas que optan en esta 58 edición a la Concha de Oro son los nuevos filmes de José María de Orbe ('Aita'), Judith Colell y Jordi Cadena ('Elisa K'), Oscar Aibar ('El Gran Vázquez') y Agustí Villaronga ('Pan Negro').
The 58th edition of the San Sebastian festival will be the last to lead Mikel Olaciregui. La 58 edición del certamen donostiarra será el último que dirija Mikel Olaciregui. En una reunión extraordinaria del consejo de administración de la sociedad Festival de Cine de Donostia-San Sebastián, que tuvo lugar el pasado 16 de julio, en el Teatro Victoria Eugenia, se decicidió por unanimidad, que el puesto de director del festival, a partir del 1 de enero de 2011, sea ocupado por José Luís Rebordinos. Hasta esa fecha, Rebordinos pasa a ejercer la función de Adjunto a la Dirección. El futuro responsable del Festival vasco era hasta ahora director de la Semana de Cine Fantástico y de Terror de San Sebastián y codirector del Festival de Cine y Derechos Humanos.
Los cambios en la dirección no implican un cambio de rumbo en la programación de este año donde España repite con cuatro títulos en la Sección Oficial. 'Aita' es la segunda película de José María de Orbe, uno de los directores más inclasificables y personales del actual panorama del cine español. 'Aita' está producida por Luis Miñarro, que obtuvo recientemente el Grand Prix Globo de Cristal de Karlovy Vary con 'La Mosquitera', de Agustí Vila, y ha coproducido 'Tío Boonme revive sus vidas pasadas', de Apichatpong Weerasethakul, ganadora de la Palma de Oro en Cannes 2010.
